The Last of Summer
I will probably go to school today to number our fabulous new textbooks. I was supposed to do this yesterday, but between grandson Alexander and yardman Cat life interfered in a positive way. Anyway, I have an appointment for new nails and a pedicure tomorrow morning and don’t want to be hauling book boxes after that, so I better get over it and get over there.
Alexander spent the night and is still sleeping in his little portacrib on the other side of the room. This is late for him, but I did let him stay up past his bedtime last night while his parents finished redoing the lead-painted screen porches on their little rent house. They took them down frames and all before moving in and left them that way for the summer, but the landlady has started pushing for the free labor. Can you believe that? It is a little incredible in light of the fact that they painted the entire interior of the house in addition to doing other work the house needed.
Alexander learned two things last night, how to get off the bed without help and how to work my little remoteless TV. He can now turn Clifford the big red dog off and on with his little index finger. He is equally mystified and pleased with himself for this little accomplishment, never having seen anyone work the mysterious instrument with anything other than a remote.

Hi Julia, you must be coming close to starting school again as having a beauty session is something I try and do before the holiday is out!
Ahhh I love that age when little people discover that they can actually make things happen for themselves. Oh to be a child again (sometimes) and still be in awe of the world!
I finally got around to buying my wedding dress today….only two weeks to go so I thought it was probably about time :)I’ll send you the link so you can see it.
Take care,
love and hugs

Happy Wednesday Julia;
Ahhhhh.. It amazes me how fast the little ones learn the remote but Alexander learn how to manually turn on the TV is amazing too. You have to take a photo of him doing that for a memory down the line.
Have a wonderful end of the week my friend. ~Hugs~

Hi Julia, That didn’t take long for Alexander to learn the remote, it’s amazing how quickly they learn. Lucky you, a pedicure and a manicure, two of my favorite things. Have a nice Thursday. *hugs*

So it seems odd to see that it IS over there…lol.
TOO cute about Alexander’s mystification!
He looks like SUCH a sweetie!
Thanks for visiting my blog..
and take care..

Hi Julia,
It was just the other day that I saw Alexandar’s birth pictures.
Everytime I look at Brian and Nicky I think of the song with the lyric-”Turn around you’re tiny, turn around then you’re grown”.
That landlady is getting quite the bargain. Usually, you have to hire a
professional contractor with experience in lead removal. There again, that landlady is getting quite the bargain.
Take care, dear friend.
Hugs
