Atonement
After reading an excellent review by Toni, I decided I had waited long enough to watch Atonement. A rainy Saturday afternoon and the aftermath of a cold were perfect for this sort of thing. It was not at all what I expected, and I have to agree with Nikki that it’s well worth seeing in spite of its challenging subjects of sibling rivalry and starcrossed love.
Now I’m wondering if I should read the book. We all know that books spoil movies, and I’m wondering if movies do not also spoil books. Speaking of books into movies, I highly recommend the upcoming showing of Mrs. Gaskell’s Cranford on PBS. The book is a hoot!

Hi Julia,
There is nothing better than watching a good movie on a rainy day when ones not feeling up to par.
Wishing you a happy Sunday.

Hi Julia;
I hope you are feeling better. The rain is coming in tonight in my area and supposed to hang around for the next few days.
Thank you for the compliment regarding my review of Atonement. I’m happy you decided to watch the movie.
Take care and have a lovely weekend. ~Hugs~

Hello,
I’m so glad you’ve seen Atonement, I saw it at the cinema when it first came out and did a review http://www.ibdsupport.co.uk/films-a-z/
I’m in the middle of a hectic weekend, too much schoolwork to do and a huge decision to make which is constantly on my mind (whether to apply for a job at a different school after being at this one for nearly 20 years!). More on that another time. Hoping to do a post later today when I’ve got all the boring bits out of the way
not sure of that link will show up, if it didn’t, go to archives for Sept 7th.
I really love your new theme here, the background is beautiful!
Did it come with the theme?
Off to do my long list of jobs now, bah, what happened to that old phrase, ‘weekends off’??
Love x

Hi Julia, I can’t decide to watch Atonement, I’ve heard nothing but good things about it and yet I hesitate to watch. After a week of beautiful weather comes the rain. Oh well it will be good for the grass. Have a nice Sunday. *hugs*
